Police in Mombasa County have recovered an assortment of stolen property and narcotics following a successful raid conducted earlier today in the Soweto, JCC Area of Likoni Sub-County.
The operation was carried out after police officers received a tip-off from vigilant members of the public.
According to the police report, officers stormed a residence in the area where they recovered two television sets, a coffee maker, one laptop, several gas cylinders, a jungle bag, and multiple identification cards, all believed to have been stolen in various criminal incidents reported in the region.
In addition to the stolen items, police seized 38 rolls of a substance suspected to be cannabis (bhang), indicating possible drug trafficking activity linked to the premises.
Two suspects were arrested at the scene and are currently in police custody. Authorities have confirmed that the suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete and charges are formally filed.
Police officials commended the public for their timely information, noting that the success of the raid highlights the importance of community-police collaboration in fighting crime.
“This operation is a clear demonstration of what we can achieve when the public works hand-in-hand with law enforcement,” said a senior officer involved in the raid.
“The National Police Service remains fully committed to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of all citizens.”
The National Police Service continues to urge residents to report suspicious activities through established communication channels and to remain proactive in supporting ongoing efforts to improve security across the country.
