A Tahmeed Bus was involved in a serious accident along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, leaving multiple passengers injured and one confirmed dead.
The incident occurred in the McKinnon area of Kinango, Kwale County.
Reports indicate that the long-distance bus overturned, though the exact cause of the crash is yet to be officially established.
Videos and images circulating online show the bus lying on its side, as well as images after it was righted.
The Long Distance Drivers and Conductors Association (LoDDCA) confirmed the accident, noting that this is the second fatal incident involving a Tahmeed Bus within a week.
“Tahmeed Bus was involved in a road accident at the Mackinnon area in Kwale County with several people injured and one feared dead,” LoDDCA stated.
“This marks the second fatal accident involving Tahmeed buses within a week.”
Earlier, on November 9, another Tahmeed Bus crashed at Nairobi’s Nyayo Roundabout, resulting in the immediate death of the conductor and leaving several passengers with injuries to the chest, head, and legs.
While an official investigation is still ongoing, preliminary reports suggest that driver fatigue from a long-distance journey may have contributed to the latest crash.
