The latest development cones barely 24 hours after Nairobi News publicised Kipchirchir’s tragedy.

As earlier reported by Nairobi News, Kipchirchir had on Wednesday, July 9, called out the phone manufacturer after his phone exploded while in his pocket.

In a social media post seen by this writer, Mosonik narrated how his Techno Camon 30 exploded in his pocket, causing him serious body harm.

The journalist explained how the phone exploded in his pocket and hurt his left thigh.

That is not the only damage that the scribe incurred as his iPhone too, which was in the same pocket also got damaged in the process.

According to Kipchirchir Mosonik, Techno mobile phones are no longer a smart innovation but a pocket grenade.

Wrapping his complaint, the journalist gave Tecno mobile phones a zero over ten rating, insisting that he does not recommend them to anyone.

“TECNO CAMON 30 TECNO Mobile 😭😭😭

Thought my phone was just for pics and chats… until it decided to go off in my pocket! 💥 Now my left thigh is paying the price with a hip pointer injury (Tensor Fasciae Latae, for the medical folks). My Iphone in critical condition shiet!!!

📱 Tecno’s ‘explosive’ innovation? More like a pocket grenade! 💣 Who needs a camera phone when you can have a flaming surprise instead?

🚑 0/10 – Do NOT recommend,” he wrote.

His sentiments were echoed by countless Kenyans who camped in the comments section of his post with their own experiences with Techno mobile phones.

Highlighting the same issue, Radio Maisha news reader Victor Mulama shared Mosonik’s message in a comical yet educative way.

Through his Facebook post, Mulama expressed his disappointments with the phone brand noting that the phone in question had not even lasted six months.

“NEWS ALERT: Eldoret based media personality Eng. Kipchirchir Mosonik of TIET is calling out TECNO Mobile after his Tecno Camon 30 phone, purchased just six months ago, exploded in his pocket, leaving him with injuries on his left thigh,” Mulama wrote.

However, Kipchirchir disclosed that Tecno has reached out to him and were willing to engage him in talks concerning possible compensation.
