Health authorities have confirmed three cases of Mpox in Nyandarua County.
One patient is currently receiving treatment at Engineer Level Four Hospital, while a couple from Ndaragwa are being treated in an isolation unit at Nyahururu County Hospital.
According to Laikipia County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health Services, Wagura Taiti, the couple’s two children have been placed under medical observation despite testing negative for the virus.
Health teams from both Nyandarua and Laikipia counties have been deployed to manage the situation.
Contact tracing has been completed, and two relatives of the infected couple are now under home quarantine.
Taiti emphasized that Laikipia County has not recorded any Mpox cases to date.
He noted that the couple was admitted to Nyahururu County Hospital due to its proximity to Ndaragwa and its capacity to handle Mpox cases.
