Three Notorious Robbers Nabbed In Daring Police Operation In Athi River


A wave of fear that gripped parts of Athi-River has been quelled following the arrest of three feared robbery suspects in a calculated and intensive police operation.

The suspects, identified as Kelvin Baraza Andayi alias Kevoo, Titus Mutuku Maingi alias Tush, and Jack Wilshere Kimathi alias Jack, were taken into custody after detectives linked them to a violent robbery at Sanergy Limited Company EPZ in Kinanie on February 23, 2025.

According to police reports, the trio, together with two other accomplices still at large, stormed the facility armed with crude weapons.

In a brutal and coordinated attack, they subdued the company’s workers, physically assaulted them, and held them hostage.

The gang made away with a trove of stolen items, including a fridge, microwave, two lorry batteries, two backloader tractor batteries, and a generator.

The stolen property was loaded into a pickup truck before the suspects fled the scene.

Determined to bring the perpetrators to justice, detectives from Athi-River launched a comprehensive manhunt, meticulously analyzing forensic evidence and surveillance data.

The trail led them to a rented house in Kamulu, where the alleged ringleader, Kelvin Baraza Andayi, was arrested.

A search of the premises yielded a Beretta pistol, a pocket phone, six assorted SIM cards, tactical trousers, and other items believed to be linked to the robbery.

Pressed by investigators, Andayi cooperated and directed police to Gimu in Athi-River, where his accomplices, Maingi and Kimathi, were apprehended without incident.

The suspects are currently in custody awaiting arraignment, while investigations continue to track down the remaining fugitives.

Meanwhile, authorities have secured all recovered items as exhibits in the ongoing case, signaling a significant breakthrough in dismantling the gang believed to be behind multiple criminal incidents in the region.
