Thugs Raid Construction Site In Athi River, Rob Materials


Police are looking for a gang that raided a construction site in Athi River, Machakos County and stole materials worth millions of shillings.

The gang arrived on a lorry at the Ark Construction and held hostage three guards on duty before embarking on their mission.

They had gained entry by drilling the perimeter wall and later held hostage the night guards.

Police said they then tied the guards using a wire and locked them in a store.

They then raided the main block and gained entry to the three stores by cutting window grills and disconnected electricity, which disrupted the CCTV connection and stole construction equipment of unknown value.

Elsewhere in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, a gang raided a home and harassed a family before robbing them of their valuables.

The incident happened in Kahiro village and police said they robbed the family of two mobile phones Oppo and Techno Spark, 50-inch TV Skywalk, and a microwave.

The gang escaped on a car belonging to the owner of the house after claiming they had been sent to commit the crime.

Police said they are looking for the gang behind the attack.
