Two Kenyan politicians tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Uganda.
The accident occurred along the Moroto-Napak road at Tapaach, where the vehicle they were traveling in was involved in a catastrophic crash.
Reports indicate that four individuals perished in the incident, including Philemon Lotudo, Elijah Lopuke, Jackson Kariwoi, and Ben Ikong.
Images from the scene of the accident show the black SUV in which the politicians were traveling, completely mangled and unrecognizable.

Kariwoi and Ikong were pronounced dead at the scene, while Lotudo succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
The fourth victim also passed away while receiving medical treatment.
Among the deceased, one had contested for the Kapenguria parliamentary seat in the 2022 elections, while another had run for the MCA position.
Elijah Lopuke had been making significant strides in his political career, having won the UDA chairmanship for Alale Ward in West Pokot in May 2024.
West Pokot County Commissioner Khaliff Abdullahi confirmed the tragic incident, adding that investigations were underway to determine the cause of the accident.
It is noteworthy that the vehicle involved in the crash was attached to the West Pokot County government at the time.
Kenyan and Ugandan authorities collaborated to coordinate the repatriation of the deceased’s bodies.
The bodies have since been transported to Cherangany Mortuary in Kitale for postmortem and further arrangements.
The deceased were part of a delegation accompanying Pokot South MP David Pkosing on a cross-border tour between Kenya and Uganda.
Sook Ward MCA Martin Komongiro, who was also in the vehicle, narrowly escaped the accident.
He was rushed to Eldoret for specialized treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.
This tragic incident has left the local political community in shock, and further investigations will continue to clarify the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
