Unapenda Wazee Sindio? Netizens Ungovernable After Guardian Angel Shares Pro-Ruto Post

Kenyan gospel singer Guardian Angel has found himself at the centre of online discussions after sharing a social media post praising President William Ruto’s leadership, prompting netizens to flood the comments section with jokes, political jabs and personal remarks.

The musician, who is married to Esther Musila, attracted reactions from social media users who appeared unimpressed by his political stance.

Rather than focusing solely on his views about the Head of State, some Kenyans turned the discussion into an opportunity to poke fun at his personal life, with several dragging his wife into the conversation.

The reactions quickly took a humorous turn, with commenters making cheeky references to the age difference between Guardian Angel and Musila, while others used the opportunity to express their political opinions ahead of the 2027 General Election. Photo: Guardian Angel Global/Facebook

The reactions quickly took a humorous turn, with commenters making cheeky references to the age difference between Guardian Angel and Musila, while others used the opportunity to express their political opinions ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Among the comments that caught attention was one by Joel Mirinah, who appeared to draw a comparison between the singer and his wife while joking about their age difference.

“Usawa gani and yet there’s a 36 years difference between the key and padlock?” he wrote, accompanying his remark with a laughing emoji.

Joseph Mwangi also joined the discussion with a sarcastic comment about becoming a grandfather before becoming a father, writing:

“If someone who becomes a grandfather b4 being a father says tutam whom am I to say no, tutam-toa.”

Meanwhile, Xteve Pappah appeared to turn the conversation towards Musila, asking:

“How’s our shosh doing šŸ™„”

Charles Koech added another jab, writing:

“Shida ya kukula vitu mbaya mbaya,”

While Mercy Akpa appeared to suggest that the singer was struggling with the situation, asking:

“Vitunguu zimekushinda.. si ndio?”

Ian Wakaba also joined the conversation with the cheeky remark:

“Wewe kula na kashush kako usiteletee…”

Faith Norah Lukosi, however, appeared to offer the singer some advice, writing:

“You can’t just be always on the wrong my brother Giard ia. This time round, make the right choice.”

Mark Ochili also weighed in, writing:

“Hiyo kitunguu uzia huyo mzee yako.”

Another user, Tyso Lee Josephat, took the discussion in a completely different direction by asking:

“Excuse me, I have a question: When a blind person dreams, do they also see images or is it just audio?”

Brian Asena added to the humour with the comment:

“Ujatosheka na za vitunguu,” attracting laughing reactions from other users.

While some commenters focused on the singer’s marriage, others used the opportunity to make political statements, turning the comment section into a wider debate about the country’s leadership and the next election.

Grivin Orata, for instance, claimed:

“Even Ruto himself will vote for Sifuna as the 6th president.”

Dan Entrepreneurs also made a political remark, writing:

“Sugoi na must Go have one thing in common…GO….but it will be revealed 2027.”

Meanwhile, Mark To’o appeared to express disappointment with the singer, asking:

“Sijui nivute nyimbo zako ama niaaache?”

The comments illustrated how quickly a discussion about a public figure’s political views can shift into jokes about their personal life and broader political disagreements.

Guardian Angel’s marriage to Musila has previously attracted public attention because of their widely discussed age difference.

Consequently, some social media users used the latest debate as another opportunity to bring up their relationship, even though the original discussion centred on the singer’s apparent praise for Ruto.

The incident also highlighted the increasingly unpredictable nature of online conversations involving celebrities and politics in Kenya.

Public figures who express support for political leaders often find themselves facing both criticism and praise, with social media users using humour, sarcasm and personal commentary to make their positions known.

Although Guardian Angel’s post reportedly praised Ruto’s leadership, the reactions showed that some users were more interested in teasing the singer about his marriage than debating the president’s performance.

As the online discussion continued, the singer’s political stance, his relationship with Musila and the country’s political future became intertwined in a comment section that was filled with jokes and competing opinions.

The remarks, however, represent individual social media users’ views and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of all Kenyans.
