A woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing another woman with a kitchen knife during an incident at the Lang’ata Baracks, Nairobi.
The incident occurred on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at about 4pm, police and military said.
According to officials, a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer attached to the Military Police and residing at Lang’ata Barracks reported that a woman had been stabbed inside a house belonging to a senior sergeant based at Embakasi Airbase.
Officials who responded to the scene found the suspect locked inside the house.
Police established that the suspect allegedly found another woman in the house with her boyfriend and became furious before picking up a kitchen knife and stabbing her.
The victim sustained stab wounds to her right upper arm, left lower abdomen and the left side of her back.
She was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital, where she was receiving treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.
Police said the suspect subsequently went into a bedroom where she allegedly burnt her clothes before locking herself inside the house.
Crime Scene Investigation officers processed the scene, while the knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered and preserved as an exhibit.
The woman was arrested and placed in police custody pending arraignment in court.
Police said the woman will face several charges over the drama.
Such incidents of love triangle have been on the rise amid calls for caution among the parties involved. Police statistics show some of the incidents had turned deadly and the suspects involved are facing murder charges.
