According to detectives, the fake platforms were designed to attract travellers seeking to purchase bus tickets online. Victims were allegedly persuaded to make payments through the websites before losing their money.

The suspects were arrested at the scene and remain in police custody as detectives complete processing ahead of their arraignment in court.

The electronic devices and SIM-related materials recovered during the raid will form part of the evidence as investigators work to establish the full extent of the alleged fraud.

Police are also pursuing additional leads to determine whether other individuals are linked to the suspected cybercrime network and establish the number of people who may have fallen victim to the scheme.
