Police in Kilifi are investigating a suspected drowning incident in which a 22-year-old man died while swimming at Mnarani Beach Club.
The deceased, identified as Eugine Lomide, alias Mseru, reportedly went swimming at the beach club on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m., accompanied by two others.
Witnesses said the three had been swimming for approximately 10 minutes when Lomide disappeared. His companions were unable to trace him and alerted nearby divers, who joined a search operation, but the search was unsuccessful.
His body was recovered from the Mnarani Beach Club seashore at around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 13.
Police officers from Kilifi Police Station, DCI officers from Kilifi North Sub-County and Scenes of Crime personnel visited the scene, which was processed and documented.
The body had no visible injuries and was moved to the Kilifi County Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination.
In the same area, police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was found at Ndodo Beach on Sunday morning.
The deceased, identified as David Sabaa, a Giriama male adult, was discovered after a fisherman reportedly spotted a lifeless body at the beach and informed a village elder.
Preliminary information indicates that Sabaa was last seen at his home at around 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The report further states that he had a history of epilepsy dating back to childhood.
No visible injuries were observed on the body.
The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to the Kilifi County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
And police in Gatundu South, Kiambu County, have arrested two suspects in connection with the suspected murder of a 41-year-old man whose body was found near a bar at Ndundu Trading Centre.
The deceased, identified as Samuel Maina Wangui, was discovered lying beside New Carlos Bar at around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
Police found the victim lying on his back with a visible deep cut on his neck and a pool of blood on the ground.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was last seen with a local man at New Carlos Bar, where they were taking refreshments. He reportedly left for home at around 10:50 p.m., but his body was discovered the following morning.
Police arrested two suspects believed to be connected to the incident as investigations continue.
The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to Gatundu Level Five Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
Elsewhere, a 20-year-old Form Four student at Nyangeti Secondary School in Kenyenya, Kisii County, died after reportedly complaining of stomach pains.
The deceased, identified as David Etot, died on Sunday morning, September 13, 2026, while receiving treatment at Ogembo Sub-County Hospital.
Police officers visited the school and established that Etot had first complained of stomach pains on Friday, September 10. He was rushed to a local health facility, where he received treatment and was discharged in stable condition.
However, he reportedly developed the same symptoms again on Sunday morning at around 5 a.m. and was taken to Ogembo Sub-County Hospital. Medical personnel confirmed that he had died while undergoing treatment.
His body was moved to the hospital mortuary pending an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
