A 32-year-old man was found stabbed to death inside his house in Essumba Village, Emmabwi Sub-Location, Ebukanga Location in Emuhaya, Vihiga County.
The deceased, identified as Ezekiel Andayi Ateko, was discovered dead on Saturday evening, October 3, 2026, after members of the public alerted police about a suspected murder.
According to officers who visited the scene they found Andayi lying dead on the floor of his house with stab wounds to his stomach and intestines.
His wife told police that the deceased had returned home at around 4pm complaining that unidentified people were following him with the intention of harming him.
She said she subsequently left the house to go to the river and returned at around 6pm, only to find her husband lying dead.
Police processed the scene before removing the body to Coptic Hospital Mortuary, where it was preserved pending an autopsy.
Investigations have been launched to establish the motive for the killing and identify those responsible.
