The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has announced the recovery of 7.11 hectares of public land within Karura Forest, valued at approximately Sh2.8 billion.
The land, which had been illegally acquired by prominent individuals, has now been reclaimed for public use.
In a statement released Monday, the Commission described the recovery as a major milestone in its ongoing efforts to reclaim public assets unlawfully taken by private interests.
The EACC Chief Executive Officer is scheduled to visit the recovered site on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, where he will address members of the media alongside officials from the Kenya Forest Service (KFS).
The press briefing will take place at Karura Forest, Gate A (Limuru Road).
The EACC has invited journalists to attend and provide coverage of the event, noting that media representatives are requested to share their names in advance to facilitate logistical coordination at the venue.
This latest recovery reinforces the Commission’s commitment to protecting public resources and ensuring accountability in the management of Kenya’s natural assets.
