The National Intelligence Service (NIS) boss Noordin Haji’s son, Noordin Mohamed Haji, on Saturday, November 29, officially tied the knot with his lover in a high-profile, star-studded private wedding held in Masalani, Garissa County.
Nairobi News has learnt Mohamed Haji and his fiancée, Jamila Mohammed Abdulgader Al Sawae, exchanged vows in a ceremony steeped in Islamic customs and Somali cultural traditions, reflecting the family’s deep-rooted heritage and strong commitment to cultural values.

The glamorous ceremony attracted a notable list of dignitaries from across the political divide.
Among those in attendance were President William Ruto, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, and ODM party leader and Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga, alongside several other senior government officials and respected community leaders.
Their presence underscored the high regard in which the Haji family is held both nationally and within the region.

President Ruto, dressed elegantly in a white Kaunda suit paired with a matching Godfather hat and a signature walking stick, was warmly received with traditional song, dance, and jubilation as he arrived at the venue in Ijara Constituency.
His arrival set the tone for what would become one of the most talked-about weddings of the weekend.
Photos and video clips from the vibrant ceremony quickly circulated online, sparking conversations across social media platforms.
Netizens showered the couple with congratulatory messages, with many praising the organisation, aesthetics, and cultural richness of the event.
Others noted the dignified atmosphere, describing the wedding as “classy, well-coordinated, and befitting of the Haji family.”
Nairobi News further reports that President Ruto had earlier launched the 376-unit Masalani Affordable Housing Project in Ijara prior to attending the wedding.

The project is part of the government’s broader plan to expand affordable housing opportunities across the country.
In addition, the President commissioned the newly constructed Yusuf Haji Girls Secondary School, named in honour of the late former Garissa Senator and respected elder, Yusuf Haji.
During his visit, Ruto handed over a new school bus and laid the foundation stone for the school’s second development phase, signalling the government’s continued investment in education and infrastructure in the region.
The wedding is expected to remain a major highlight in Garissa County for weeks, not only due to its star-studded guest list but also for showcasing the region’s hospitality, culture, and unity.
