A man and woman were arrested over a stupefying incident in Sagana, Kirinyaga County.
During the incident, two men were drugged and robbed of cash, mobile phones and jewelry.
The suspects were traced to Juja, Kiambu County and arrested with the mobile phones of the victims and five others which are believed to have been stolen, police said.
The two victims told police they had on December 31, 2025 checked into Maya Gardens in Sagana and were joined by two women.
They were later found unconscious in the area the following day at about 4 pm with the valuables missing.
The matter was reported prompting police investigations.
The suspects were identified as Annex Wambui Njoroge, 37 and Paul Mwangi Chege, 44. The victims were taken to hospital for attention.
Police said the victims who had left Nairobi for Sagana were responding well to medical attention in hospital.
The police are investigating to establish if there are more suspects in the saga.
The suspects were expected in court to face the charges of stealing and stupefying.
Cases of stupefying have been on the rise in the area amid operations to curb the trend. Several suspects have been arrested in the operation, police said. They are facing charges in courts.
In some unfortunate incidents, victims of stupefying have lost their lives after being heavily drugged, hence the need to exercise caution and always party around known friends who would have your back in case of such danger, police say.
Meanwhile, in Yala River,Siaya County, the body of a man was found floating there after suspected drowning.
The body was retrieved and moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
Police said they are investigating the incident. They want to establish if he was killed and thrown to the river or he drowned.
