Bahati finally meets woman alleging to be his biological mother; “Who’s this woman?”

Kenyan singer and politician Bahati has finally come face to face with the woman who has been publicly claiming to be his biological mother, bringing to a head a deeply emotional story that has captivated Kenyans online for days.

A couple of days ago, Bahati revealed that he would be meeting the woman to hear her out and “get to the bottom of the matter,” after her claims went viral on social media and sparked intense debate.

The artiste, known for his openness about his personal life, disclosed that he had already spoken to the woman on phone, during which she insisted that she was his real mother.

Bahati promised to meet her in person on Friday so that he could better understand her story and seek clarity.

However, even as he prepared for the meeting, Bahati made it clear that he was skeptical about the woman’s claims.

In a heartfelt message shared with fans, he explained that everything he knows about his background points to a different story.

He wrote:

“Do I feel the Pain of this Woman? YES, Does She Sound Genuine? YES … But respectfully; this is What I Know 🙏🙏🙏 My Mum was Known as Lucia Mueni; a Kamba from Wote Makueni County. She passed on When I was 7yrs old.. in Nursery School and I attended and witnessed her Burial. This Story Leaves Me with 3 Major Questions:-

Could My Mum be Alive???

Who is this Woman???

How Do I get the Truth???”

The emotional caption revealed Bahati’s inner conflict: compassion for the woman’s pain, mixed with confusion and disbelief about how such a claim could contradict the memories he holds about his late mother, Lucia Mueni, whom he says he personally saw being laid to rest.

True to his word, Bahati on Sunday, February 15, met the woman and shared their moment with Kenyans online.

In videos and photos posted on his social media platforms, the singer was seen sitting with the woman in what appeared to be a calm but emotionally charged conversation.

The two listened to each other as Bahati tried to piece together her story, while many Kenyans flooded the comment section with mixed reactions, some urging compassion for the woman, others advising Bahati to be cautious and seek proper verification.

The story has struck a chord with many because Bahati’s life story is well known to the public.

Born and raised in Nairobi’s Mathare area, Bahati has previously opened up about growing up in hardship and being raised in children’s homes after losing his parents at a young age.

His journey from a difficult childhood to becoming one of Kenya’s most recognised gospel-turned-secular artistes is often cited as an inspiring rags-to-riches narrative.

Over the years, he has also been vocal about the pain of losing his mother and the impact it had on his life.

That background is why the woman’s claim has raised so many questions.

If Bahati indeed attended his mother’s burial as a child, how could there now be another woman insisting she is the one who gave birth to him?

Some online users have speculated about possible cases of mistaken identity, mental health struggles, or even long-lost family connections being confused.

Others have suggested that only a proper investigation, including family elders’ accounts and possibly DNA testing, can offer definitive answers.

So far, Bahati has maintained a respectful tone toward the woman, emphasizing that while he feels her pain and does not want to dismiss her story, he must rely on facts and the truth he has known all his life.

He has also indicated that he wants to involve family members and relevant authorities to verify the claims before drawing any conclusions.

As the story continues to unfold, Kenyans remain glued to their screens, awaiting clarity.

Whether the meeting will lead to closure, more questions, or a surprising revelation remains to be seen.

For now, Bahati’s situation highlights the emotional complexity of identity, family, and the search for truth, especially when deeply personal histories collide with public attention.
