Kakamega county holds climate planning workshop ahead of heavy rains

The County Government of Kakamega has intensified preparations for the anticipated heavy rainfall season, with a focus on mitigating potential damage to infrastructure and communities.

County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Water, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, Ms. Penina Mukabane, officially opened a Participatory Scenario Planning (PSP) workshop at Bukura Agricultural Training Centre. The forum aimed to develop mitigation measures to manage the expected impact of heavy rains forecast for the upcoming season.

The programme is jointly funded by the World Bank, the Government of Kenya, DANIDA, SIDA, KfW, and participating county governments.
