I made Sh200k in 5 minutes, Hanna Benta opens up about her TikTok Live earnings

Kenyan TikTok star Hanna Benta has pulled back the curtain on the kind of money top creators are making online, revealing that a single live session can translate into hundreds of thousands of shillings within minutes.

Speaking during a candid interview with 2Mbili TV, Benta disclosed that one of her most shocking moments came when she earned Sh200,000 in just five minutes, purely from virtual gifts sent by her followers.

The revelation has sparked widespread conversation about the growing financial potential of content creation in Kenya.

According to Benta, TikTok Live has become her biggest revenue stream, powered by fans who send digital gifts such as “Lions” and “Universes,” which are later converted into real cash.

She emphasised that the money doesn’t come easily, but through building a strong connection with her audience.

“There was a day I earned 200k in just five minutes on TikTok. The least I have ever made, I cannot recall,” Hanna said.

She went on to explain that consistency and audience loyalty are what drive her earnings, noting that her supporters show up in large numbers whenever she goes live.

“It’s about your people showing up for you,” she said during the session.

The influencer’s earnings are not a one-off incident.

“When I do a TikTok match, that is when I usually earn the most money. There was a time I got around 1 point something million in one single live, and that was during an official TikTok match. I have never done an official match since. The money was uncountable; I had Universe gifts totalling over 20, and you know a Universe gift equals a lot of money,” she added.

In previous livestreams, she has pulled in massive amounts through fan support, at one point raising over Sh1 million in TikTok gifts during a highly engaging session.

At the time, she expressed gratitude to her followers, acknowledging their role in her success.

“The love you guys showed me… was on another level,” she said after one of her biggest streams.

Benta also addressed critics who often question the sustainability and authenticity of TikTok earnings.

She maintained that live streaming is a serious digital hustle that requires strategy, timing, and the ability to entertain and engage in real time.

“This is real work, people just don’t understand it,” she added.

Her rise has come with both admiration and controversy, but she remains unfazed.

Despite constant scrutiny online, Benta insists her focus is on growing her brand and maximizing opportunities in the digital space.

The TikToker’s story reflects a broader shift in Kenya’s entertainment landscape, where influencers are turning attention into income.

With platforms like TikTok offering monetization tools, creators like Hanna Benta are redefining what it means to earn in the digital age, where, as she puts it, a few minutes of going live can change your bank balance instantly.
