Man found dead in bed at Kapsabet home


A 64-year-old man was found dead in his house in Kapsabet, Nandi County, in an incident reported to police on Thursday.

The deceased, identified as Argwens Ogosi Jumba, was discovered unresponsive on his bed at by his sister who had gone to serve him breakfast.

Police officers visited the scene following a report made and found the body lying in a supine position. Preliminary observations indicated no visible signs of physical injury.

Family members told investigators that the deceased had been suffering from high blood pressure and was under medication. Assorted drugs were found placed on a table in the room.

The body was moved to White Crescent Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Meanwhile, police in Kisumu Central Sub-County are investigating a violent robbery in which a 65-year-old man was attacked and robbed outside his home in Obunga on Thursday afternoon.

The victim was attacked at around 4:15 p.m. shortly after arriving at his residence at Aga Khan Flats.

According to police reports, the victim had just alighted from a motorcycle when he was confronted by two assailants—a man and a woman—who were riding on another motorcycle and were armed with an AK-47 rifle and a pistol.

The attackers reportedly fired one round before striking the victim on the right shoulder with a rifle butt, causing him to fall and sustain additional bruises on both knees.

They then robbed him of his mobile phones, an Oppo and a Samsung device, which were inside a carrier bag before fleeing to an unknown destination.

The scene was processed and one spent 7.62mm cartridge was recovered as evidence.

The victim was treated for slight injuries sustained during the attack.

Police have launched investigations and are pursuing the suspects.
