Police in Kirinyaga County have recovered the body of a 44-year-old man who had been reported missing after leaving home to collect money from a neighbour.
The incident was reported at Kiangwachi Police Post under Sagana Police Station in Kirinyaga West Sub-county.
According to police, George King’ora left his home saying he was going to collect money from a neighbour who lives across River Ragati but failed to return.
His disappearance was reported to police, and a missing person report was recorded as relatives and members of the public launched an unsuccessful search.
On Friday morning, police officers from the station, assisted by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kirinyaga West and members of the public, resumed the search along River Ragati.
The search ended when King’ora’s body was found floating along the riverbank. The body was retrieved and positively identified by family members.
Police said a preliminary examination of the body did not reveal any visible injuries suggesting foul play.
The scene was documented before the body was moved to Kibugi Funeral Home, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.
