Morara Kebaso Ditches Own INJECT Party, Joins Jubilee Ahead of 2027 Borabu MP Bid

Political activist and lawyer Morara Kebaso has announced a major shift in his political journey after revealing that he has shelved his INJECT Party and officially joined Jubilee Party as he gears up to contest for the Borabu Parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election.

The outspoken politician said the decision was informed by the political realities on the ground in Nyamira County and the wider Gusii region, arguing that contesting under the Jubilee Party would give him a stronger platform to pursue his political ambitions.

Announcing the move on social media, Kebaso disclosed that after extensive consultations, he had resolved to suspend the activities of his youthful INJECT Party and instead seek election on a Jubilee ticket.

In his caption, Kebaso wrote:

“After extensive consultations and careful consideration of the political realities in Nyamira County and the larger Gusii region, I have decided to shelve the INJECT Party and join the Jubilee Party. I will be vying for the Borabu Parliamentary seat in 2027 under the Jubilee Party.”

He maintained that the move was not a departure from his ideals but rather a strategic decision aimed at increasing his chances of representing the people of Borabu in Parliament.

What Morara Told Oga Obinna

Speaking during a recent interview with media personality Oga Obinna, Kebaso explained that politics is ultimately about building numbers and working with existing political structures.

According to him, while the INJECT Party was founded to champion governance, accountability and youth participation in leadership, he had come to appreciate that regional political dynamics could not be ignored when seeking elective office.

Kebaso noted that his focus is now on serving the people of Borabu, adding that joining Jubilee provides him with a practical vehicle to achieve that goal while remaining committed to the values he has consistently championed.

A Significant Political Turnaround

The announcement marks yet another significant turn in Kebaso’s political career.

Following the 2024 anti-government protests, Kebaso emerged as one of Kenya’s most vocal civic educators through his nationwide campaign of inspecting stalled government projects and demanding accountability from public officials.

His activism quickly earned him nationwide recognition, particularly among young Kenyans.

He later launched the INJECT Party, an acronym for Inclusion of National Justice, Economic and Civic Transformation, presenting it as a movement that would usher in a new generation of ethical leadership and governance.

Although the party attracted considerable attention from Gen Z supporters, Kebaso has now acknowledged that regional political realities require a different strategy if he is to successfully capture the Borabu parliamentary seat.

Eyes Firmly On 2027

With just over a year to the 2027 General Election, Kebaso’s decision is expected to reshape the political landscape in Borabu and the larger Gusii region.

His entry into Jubilee also signals the continued relevance of established political parties as politicians position themselves ahead of the highly anticipated elections.

Whether the move will translate into electoral success remains to be seen, but Kebaso has made it clear that his immediate objective is to secure the Borabu parliamentary seat while continuing to advocate for accountable leadership and better governance.
