Octopizzo Hosts William Ruto’s Son George at His Siaya Home Despite Being Father’s Harsh Critic

Kenyan rapper Octopizzo has stirred conversation online after welcoming George Ruto, the son of President William Ruto, to his rural home in Ugunja, Siaya County, despite previously being one of the president’s most vocal critics.

The unexpected meeting, documented through a series of photos shared on social media, showed George enjoying a tour of the award-winning rapper’s countryside home.

The visit quickly caught the attention of Kenyans, with many pointing out the irony of the encounter given Octopizzo’s long-standing criticism of President Ruto’s administration.

The picturesque home, nestled in the heart of Siaya County, offered George a glimpse into the rapper’s roots.

In the photos, the two appeared relaxed as they walked around the compound, admired the lush surroundings and posed for memorable snapshots.

Octopizzo captioned the photos with simple but warm postcards from Ugunja, leaving many followers intrigued by the visit.

“Postcards from Ugunja courtesy of Ohanga Jr,” Octopizzo wrote.

The visit comes months after Octopizzo repeatedly criticized the Kenya Kwanza government over governance, youth issues and the state of the economy.

The rapper has consistently used his social media platforms to question government policies and challenge the country’s leadership, earning praise from some Kenyans while drawing criticism from government supporters.

Because of his outspoken stance, many social media users did not expect him to host a member of the First Family.

However, others argued that political differences should not prevent people from interacting respectfully.

George Ruto has, over the past few years, maintained a relatively low political profile compared to his father.

Instead, he has often been seen supporting youth initiatives, sports and creative industry events, making appearances across different parts of the country.

The Siaya visit also comes at a time when President Ruto has been making renewed efforts to strengthen ties with the Nyanza region through development projects and engagements with local leaders.

Political observers believe such interactions have become more common as the government seeks to bridge historical political divisions.

Online, Kenyans expressed mixed reactions to the meeting.

While some questioned whether Octopizzo had softened his political position, others insisted that hosting George should not be interpreted as support for President Ruto.

Others praised the duo for demonstrating that political disagreements do not necessarily have to translate into personal hostility, saying dialogue and mutual respect remain important even among people with differing views.

Neither Octopizzo nor George Ruto publicly addressed the political significance of the visit, leaving social media users to speculate about the nature of the meeting.
