Man stabbed to death after fight at Ngando bar in Nairobi


A man was stabbed to death following a fight at a bar in Ngando area, Dagoretti Sub-County, Nairobi, early Tuesday morning.

The deceased, identified as Joseph Matheka, was reportedly stabbed several times during the altercation at Mary’s Bar and Restaurant at about 2am.

Police officers rushed to the scene after the incident was reported.

Police established that Matheka had been involved in a fight with a man who was also injured during the confrontation.

He sustained a head injury and was bleeding heavily.

Both men were rushed to separate nearby health facilities. Matheka was taken to St Joseph Catholic Hospital, while the other man was taken to Rafa Hospital in Ngando.

Matheka was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Police processed and documented the scene as investigations into the incident began.

Matheka’s body, which had visible physical injuries, was moved to the City Mortuary pending a postmortem examination.

 

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the fight and the fatal stabbing.
