42-year-old man found dead in Kisumu estate


A 42-year-old man was found dead at Segasega Estate in Obunga, Kisumu Central Sub-County, on Tuesday morning.

The man, identified as Ezekiel Omondi, was found without visible physical injuries on his body, according to a police incident report.

Omondi’s brother told authorities that the deceased had a history of asthma, which he had reportedly suffered from for about four years.

Officers from Obunga Police Station, detectives from Kondele and scene-of-crime personnel visited the scene and processed it as part of investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.

The body was subsequently moved to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where it was preserved pending an autopsy.

Police said the postmortem examination is expected to establish the cause of death.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

And police in Kitui have recovered the decomposed body of an unidentified woman in her 40s in Savani area.The body was discovered on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, after Kwa-Ngindu Assistant Chief reported the incident to police at about 3:10pm.

A team rushed to the scene, where they found the body of an unidentified African woman lying on her back.

The woman was naked and her body was in an advanced state of decomposition, according to a police incident report.

Scene-of-crime officers processed the area before the body was removed and taken to the Kitui County Referral Hospital mortuary.

Police said a postmortem examination would be conducted to establish the cause of death.

Investigators will also take the deceased’s fingerprints in an effort to establish her identity.

The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death remain unclear, with police investigations underway.
