It seems Kenyan songstress Akothee has come to terms with the fact that she was not built for marriage.
The mother of five has just revealed that marriage is not her portion a couple of years after breaking up with her latest Swiss ex-hubby, Denis Schweizer, monikered Omosh by Kenyans.
Taking to social media on Sunday, December 28, the singer posted an old photo of herself with Omosh during their much-publicised wedding, followed by a long caption that opened a can of worms.
Akothee went further to disclose some of the reasons that led to her divorce with Omosh.
According to the star, she exited the union after learning that Omosh had lied to her about his mental health.
In her own words, she was trapped by lies and thought the union could work, only to uncover deeply hidden information about her man, Omosh.
Akothee revealed that she walked away because she felt betrayed by Omosh.
Through her caption, Akothee admitted that she had come to terms with the fact that she is a “CERTIFIED CHIEF OFFICER OF FAILED MARRIAGES”.
She reiterated that big weddings don’t equate to happy marriages.

I thought he was genuine, but probably he was. It’s just that he never disclosed to me that he was bipolar, so I left because I couldn’t keep up with the outbursts. I was losing myself and had to pick myself up every time he lost it. What I, ESTHER AKOTH KOKEYO, don’t accept in a relationship is dishonesty. He never disclosed to me that he has been battling mental health issues since birth, and since I figured it out by myself, I couldn’t carry on with the ndoa because I felt betrayed.
So say what you want, do what you can, but since I am not your child, you can’t beat me. Even my own mother, whom I have embarrassed for years, can’t do shit; the worst she can do is unmother me. End of story. I pray that none of my children ever fall into such a situation; it’s suicidal if you are not strong. Akothee and Omosh divorced not long after their April 2023 wedding, with her citing that the relationship “was not working”.
The singer revealed that she walked out after discovering incompatibilities, including Omosh hiding health issues.
As earlier reported by a section of the Kenyan media, Akothee walked out of the marriage in June 2023, during their honeymoon and ended the union privately before publicly announcing the split to prioritise her well-being and children.
