AMP overview

AMP was founded around 2019 by ImDavisss, Duke Dennis, Fanum, and Agent00, who emerged making content in online communities centered around the NBA 2K franchise.

AMP’s formation and rise were driven largely by Fanum’s ability to bring together creators with complementary talents. He met roughly half of the group through online gaming and connected with the others while creating in-person content.

One of the most important additions was Chrisnxtdoor, who initially worked as an editor. Fanum discovered Chris’ editing skills during a visit to Virginia with Davis, and after seeing the quality of his work, immediately recognized his value to the group.

The final member to join was Kai Cenat. He was recruited in 2020 after gaining attention for his content creation.

According to Fanum, Kai cemented his place in AMP during a Walmart outfit challenge when he spontaneously jumped into a fountain to improve the video’s ending, demonstrating the willingness and entertainment value that would later help make him one of the biggest streamers in the world.

AMP’s further success

As AMP expanded, the group invested heavily in its content infrastructure. In 2022, the members purchased a five-bedroom home in Atlanta, Georgia, for approximately $2.7 million, which became the primary hub for much of their streaming and video production.

Their collaborative approach, combined with the growing popularity of individual members, fueled rapid audience growth across YouTube, Twitch, and other social media platforms.

Among them, Kai Cenat emerged as the breakout star, becoming the most-followed streamer on Twitch. He repeatedly set records for the platform’s highest subscriber count. These achievements significantly elevated AMP’s overall profile.

The group continued attracting widespread attention through major events and high-profile content. In 2024, AMP made headlines after being evicted from a $30 million penthouse in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood only days after moving in.

Although the exact reason was never confirmed, the incident generated significant online discussion and further amplified the group’s visibility. After temporarily being without a residence, they secured another Manhattan penthouse with assistance from Bang Energy.

AMP also remained active in large-scale livestream productions, including the 30-day “AMP Summer” event in 2025, during which members streamed for 12 hours daily from former NBA star Tony Parker’s home. The event was promoted with a trailer featuring rapper T-Pain.

Not all publicity was positive. In early 2025, Kai Cenat, Fanum, and Agent 00 faced criticism after footage from a livestream showed them repeatedly knocking over a $70,000 AI robot. The clips spread widely online, sparking debates about empathy, technology, and influencer behavior.

Business ventures

Beyond content creation, AMP has developed multiple revenue-generating enterprises. The group has sold branded merchandise since 2020. Their products include customised hoodies, sweatshirts, shorts, t-shirts, caps, trousers, jerseys and varsity jackets.

They have also strengthened their commercial presence through partnerships with major companies, including a 2024 ambassador deal with Bang Energy. In addition, they launched their energy drink line titled, Bang Energy Any Means Orange.

In February 2025, AMP launched its own personal care brand, TONE, in collaboration with the talent agency Night. TONE also secured National Football League (NFL) star Travis Hunter as its first ambassador.
