Marriage is often described as a beautiful journey, and it becomes even more fulfilling when two people find a partner who truly complements them.
For Sauti Sol singer Bien-Aimé Baraza, that journey appears to be going strong as he marks six years of marriage with his wife, fitness coach and choreographer Chiki Kuruka.
Nairobi News has learnt that the celebrated musician is currently enjoying his sixth year in marriage, a milestone that the couple recently marked with a heartfelt message shared online.
Chiki took to social media to shower her husband with love as they celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary.

In a touching post shared on Friday, February 6, she reflected on their journey together and the promises they made when they decided to spend their lives together.
In the post sighted by this writer, Chiki reminisced about the moment they exchanged vows and how she pledged to love Bien for eternity after officiating their union.
She admitted that, like many couples stepping into marriage, she was not entirely sure what the future would hold, but years later she has no regrets about saying “I do” to the award-winning singer.
The entertainer accompanied her anniversary message with a sentimental throwback, their hand-drawn wedding “save the date” invitation card, a detail she said reminded her of the early days before digital tools and artificial intelligence became common in event planning.
“I came across our save the date the other day! This was before the days of AI! A hand drawn invite. ❤️ 6 years ago we said yes. The truth is, no couple getting married REALLY knows what they are saying yes to. Marriage varies so much couple to couple. But when we said our vows, I looked you in your eyes and said, no matter what, I promise to put our friendship first. It’s a vow I’ve taken seriously,” Chiki wrote in part.
She went on to describe the small everyday moments that define their relationship, laughter, quiet nights at home watching their favourite shows, and what she called their “own public language” as well as the sharing of private fears.
“It’s funny, a commitment to a life of happiness can feel a bit unrealistic, life isn’t always happy. But I did then, and I do now commit to placing our friendship first. I love you Unco. To many more years xxxx,” she added.
The anniversary post quickly attracted congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities and fans of the couple, many praising their openness about marriage and relationships.
Over the years, Bien and Chiki have often been candid about their relationship, including discussions around their unconventional approach to marriage.
The couple previously sparked conversations online after revealing that they maintain an open marriage arrangement, a dynamic that allows both partners to be honest about attraction to other people while prioritising transparency and trust.
Despite the debate that followed their revelation, the pair have repeatedly emphasised that communication and friendship remain the foundation of their union.

According to them, understanding each other’s boundaries and maintaining respect has helped their relationship thrive despite public scrutiny.
The couple tied the knot in 2020 in a colourful ceremony that brought together friends, family and members of Kenya’s entertainment industry.
Since then, they have often shared glimpses of their relationship on social media, with many fans admiring the playful chemistry between the two.
Six years later, Chiki’s heartfelt anniversary tribute appears to reaffirm what she considers the core of their marriage, a deep friendship that continues to guide their relationship through life’s ups and downs.
