The body of an unidentified boy estimated to be 13 years old was retrieved from Ruiru River in Juja Sub-County, Kiambu County, in a suspected drowning incident.
The body was discovered on October 24, after a member of the public reported seeing a person floating in the river at around 1pm.
Police officers visited the scene and found the boy’s body floating near the riverbank, with his clothes reportedly placed on the bank.
Divers from the Kiambu County rescue team retrieved the body, which had no visible physical injuries, according to the police report.
Crime scene investigators from Juja processed the scene before the body was transferred to General Kago Funeral Home in Thika, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
The boy’s identity and the circumstances leading to his death had not been established by the time of reporting.
And police officers launched an operation to retrieve a body spotted floating in Sanawa Dam in Kegonga, Kuria East Sub-County, Migori County.
The incident was reported on October 24, 2026.
Local divers were at the scene attempting to retrieve the body as police monitored the operation.
The identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the incident had not been established, police said.
And a decomposing body of an unidentified man believed to be about 40 years old has been found in the waters off Mkomani Beach in Nyali, Mombasa County.
The body was spotted offshore on October 21, prompting officers from Nyali Police Station and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to visit the scene.
Police said the man’s body appeared to have been in the water for approximately three days. No visible physical injuries were observed, and authorities suspect the incident may have been a drowning.
The body was retrieved and transferred to the Coast General mortuary for preservation and identification.
Investigations have been launched to establish the man’s identity and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
