Body of unidentified man found along Mombasa Road near weighbridge

Police in Athi River East Sub-County, Machakos County, have launched investigations into the suspected murder of an unidentified man whose body was found by the roadside along Mombasa Road near the weighbridge.

The body was discovered at around 5 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Allpark.

Police officers who responded to the scene found the lifeless body of an unidentified adult African man lying by the roadside.

The body had visible marks around the neck and bruises on the back, raising suspicion that the man may have been killed.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and police are yet to establish his identity.

The body was moved to the Machakos Level Five Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing as police seek to establish the circumstances leading to the man’s death and identify those responsible.

And a 24-year-old man died after being stabbed during a scuffle with an unidentified individual in Panama, West Pokot County.

The deceased, identified as Elvis Kamari, succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kapenguria County Referral Hospital, where he had been rushed for emergency treatment.

According to police, the incident was reported on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

The report to police indicated that told police that the man had been stabbed following a confrontation with an unknown person.

The assailant was reportedly known only by physical appearance.

Good Samaritans rushed Kamari to Kapenguria County Referral Hospital for treatment. However, upon arriving at the facility, his father was informed by medical personnel that his son had succumbed to the injuries.

Police officers and a family member, visited the facility to process and document the body.

The body was left at the hospital pending a postmortem examination as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing continue.

The suspect remains at large, with police expected to pursue leads to establish the motive behind the confrontation and identify the person responsible for the fatal stabbing.
