As part of an ongoing investigation into corruption charges in the county, detectives from the Ethics and AntiCorruption Commission (EACC) have arrested Bomet Governor Prof. Hillary Barcho.
According to officials, EACC detectives are presently questioning Barchok as part of the investigation.
Detectives also conducted raids on the governor’s residences in Bomet and Nairobi as part of the inquiry to collect further evidence.
Barchok has been brought to the EACC offices in Nakuru for additional questioning following the first rounds of interrogation.
Although the specifics of the corruption inquiry are still unknown, officials have promised to look into the case thoroughly in order to establish responsibility.
The arrest is a component of a larger campaign against corruption in local government agencies.
