The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba, officially opened the 3rd Nyeri National Polytechnic International Research, Science and Innovation Conference and Skills Expo 2026 today.
The conference and skills expo provides a platform for trainees, researchers, and instructors to showcase practical innovations, solutions, and emerging technologies, strengthening research, innovation, and skills development within Kenya’s TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) sector.

Officials said the event also promotes stronger linkages between training institutions and industry, supports entrepreneurship, and underscores the role of TVET in driving industrial growth, job creation, and economic transformation.
The event was further graced by the Governor of Nyeri County, H.E. Mutahi Kahiga, who joined in celebrating the contributions of TVET institutions toward national development.
