Eight Arrested as Police Crack Down on Illicit Brew and Crime in Nairobi’s Kawangware

Eight suspects have been arrested following a police operation targeting the sale of illicit alcohol, drug trafficking and other criminal activities in Kawangware, Nairobi County.

The operation, conducted on Wednesday, July 2, was carried out by officers from Muthangari Police Station in Dagoretti Sub-County as part of ongoing efforts to combat crime in the area.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the targeted crackdown resulted in the arrest of eight individuals allegedly linked to various illegal activities.

During the operation, officers also recovered 124 litres of illicit brew (chang’aa) believed to have been intended for illegal sale and distribution.

Police said all eight suspects were escorted to Muthangari Police Station, where they remain in custody awaiting processing before being arraigned in court.

The National Police Service commended the officers involved in the operation for their swift response and reiterated its commitment to sustained enforcement operations aimed at curbing criminal activities across the country.
