Musicians across the country took to the studio to express their sorrow in the way they know best; through music.
Nairobi News has established that numerous artists, both established and upcoming, recorded and released heartfelt tributes within hours of Odinga’s death.

The tracks, shared widely on digital platforms, celebrate his legacy and immense contribution to Kenya’s political and cultural landscape.
In their songs, many artists lauded Raila for his lifelong dedication to democracy, social justice, and the welfare of ordinary Kenyans.
Others praised his efforts in championing better compensation for local musicians through initiatives involving Royal Media Services and Safaricom’s Skiza platform.
Among the first to release a tribute was Onyi Tibim, who dropped his emotional track RIP Baba Raila Odinga.
Moments later, other musicians including Mzee Elkana and Lixer Media followed suit with their own releases.
Kenyans who encountered the songs on YouTube and other streaming platforms expressed their grief in the comments sections, with many admitting that the melodies moved them to tears.
Raila Odinga Dies In India
As earlier reported by this publication, the world was thrown into mourning following the passing of Kenya’s former Prime Minister and long-serving opposition leader, who died while undergoing treatment in Kochi, India.

Odinga, who was 80 years old at the time of his death, was affectionately known as “Baba”, a symbol of resilience, unity, and hope for millions of Kenyans.
According to reports from Indian outlets Mathrubhumi and The Hindu, Odinga suffered a cardiac arrest during a morning walk at the Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre, where he had been receiving care.
He was accompanied by his sister, daughter, and personal doctor at the time of his collapse, around 7:45 a.m.
