EXCLUSIVE: Musician beaten to pulp after being caught pants down with househelp

A Coast-based upcoming musician is lucky to be alive after an alleged love affair with a househelp turned violent, leaving him badly beaten by an angry mob in Rabai, Kilifi County.

The artist, popularly known as Kanda Moja, reportedly escaped death by a whisker after being caught in a compromising situation involving a maid at her boss’ house in the quiet Buni area of Rabai.

According to sources familiar with the incident, the musician, who hails from Rabai had allegedly visited the maid at her employer’s home when the dramatic events unfolded.

While it remains unclear whether Kanda Moja was caught in the act, people intimate to the incident claim that news of his presence at the homestead quickly spread across the village, triggering a commotion that disrupted the otherwise calm neighborhood.

Witnesses say the situation escalated within minutes as villagers descended on the compound, furious over the alleged affair.

Nairobi News has exclusively learnt that Kanda Moja was subjected to a thorough beating from members of the public who were reportedly baying for his blood.

As the mob grew increasingly hostile, a village elder attempted to intervene and save the musician from the angry crowd.

The elder reportedly whisked him away and hid him inside his house in a desperate attempt to shield him from further harm.

However, the effort did little to calm the enraged villagers.

According to eyewitnesses, the mob later stormed the elder’s home, dragged the musician out, and continued assaulting him.

By the time authorities arrived, Kanda Moja had allegedly been beaten to a pulp and was struggling to escape the wrath of the villagers.

Police officers from Rabai Power Police Station eventually intervened and rescued him from the mob, preventing what could have turned into a fatal incident.

Videos and images circulating widely on social media showed the musician being roughed up by several individuals as onlookers watched the dramatic scene unfold.

The footage quickly went viral, sparking heated debate among Kenyans online.

Many netizens condemned the musician, accusing him of disrespecting the sanctity of someone’s home by allegedly visiting the maid at her boss’ residence.

Others, however, criticised the villagers for taking the law into their own hands and subjecting him to mob justice.

Social Media Reactions

Some of the reactions shared online included:

“Why would you go to someone’s home? That is just asking for trouble,” one user wrote.

“He made a mistake but beating someone like that is not right. Let the law handle such matters,” another commented.

“This is why mob justice is dangerous. Today it’s him, tomorrow it could be someone innocent,” a third netizen added.

“Both sides are wrong. Respect people’s homes but also stop mob justice,” another user noted.

Despite the widespread circulation of the incident online, it remains unclear what action authorities have taken following the dramatic rescue.

Nairobi News cannot authoritatively confirm whether the musician is currently under police custody or if he was treated and later released after the incident.

The shocking ordeal has since sparked conversations about mob justice, personal safety, and the consequences of alleged philandering in tight-knit rural communities, where such matters can quickly escalate into public confrontations.
