Government Issues Key Amendments To Previous Gazette Notices

The Government of Kenya has issued a series of formal corrections to previously published Gazette Notices concerning succession matters and legal identifications.

The amendments, aimed at rectifying clerical errors in official probate and succession records, were published in the latest edition of the Kenya Gazette.

The revised entries involve key changes to names of deceased persons, petitioners, and case details in a number of legal notices.

According to the Office of the Attorney General, the updates are part of a broader initiative to enhance accuracy and integrity in public legal documentation, particularly concerning inheritance and estate matters.

Among the most notable corrections:

  • Gazette Notice No. 13797 of 2023: The name “Richard N. W. Wachiuri” has been corrected to the full and accurate form, “Richardson N. W. Wachiuri.”
  • Gazette Notice No. 7986 of 2022: The correct first petitioner is now listed as “David Ndiritu Githinji,” replacing the previously indicated “Charles Mwangi Githinji.”
  • Notice No. 7656 of 2025: The list of petitioners has been expanded to include “Charles Ng’ang’a Mburu” and “Patrick Gitau Mburu.” Additionally, the record now clearly states that the deceased individual passed away at Mary Help Hospital on December 24, 2021.

The Attorney General’s Office emphasized that these updates are critical to ensure rightful inheritance, legal transparency, and the accurate processing of succession cases across the country.

“The integrity of legal records is vital to the justice system and to the rights of individuals involved in succession matters,” a spokesperson for the Office of the Attorney General stated.

“We encourage members of the public and legal practitioners to review the latest Kenya Gazette for full and accurate information.”

Citizens and legal representatives are advised to refer directly to the Kenya Gazette for complete details and to update any relevant documentation or ongoing legal processes in accordance with the corrections.
