Governor Fernandes Barasa Reaffirms Commitment To Transformative Development In Kakamega


Kakamega Governor H.E. FCPA Fernandes Barasa has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to driving transformative development across the county, with a particular focus on infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and education.

Speaking during a Sunday service at St. Phillips Mukomari Catholic Church in Isukha East Ward, Shinyalu Sub-county, Governor Barasa outlined several key development projects that are either ongoing or set to begin in the area.

“These projects are part of our broader development vision aimed at improving service delivery and uplifting the lives of our people,” said Governor Barasa.

He highlighted the following initiatives in Shinyalu: Completion of Shamakhubu Hospital, Construction of the Madala Tea Factory, Ongoing works on the Shamiloli–Mukomari Road, Finalization of the Ileho Health Centre and Upcoming Kambi–Kambiri–Chilobani–Rondo Junction road project.

Governor Barasa also announced that county bursary funds will soon be disbursed to assist bright but needy students across Kakamega County, ensuring education remains accessible to all.

“These investments reflect our unwavering focus on strengthening healthcare systems, improving road networks, promoting agricultural productivity, and ensuring quality education for all children in Kakamega,” he added.

The governor was accompanied by Members of the County Assembly, led by Deputy Speaker and host MCA Hon. Ben Kelly Shitiabayi, as well as County Executive Committee Members and congregants of the church.

Governor Barasa’s visit is part of his continued outreach to local communities to assess development progress and engage directly with citizens.
