TikTok has grown into one of the most popular social media platforms, where users share short videos and interact through likes, shares, and comments. Sometimes, you may want to go back and see comments you have made on different videos over time. This could be to revisit a conversation, delete a comment, or respond to someone later. While TikTok does not currently provide a direct button labeled “Comment History,” there are several ways to view your past comments.
When you comment on a video, TikTok links your comment to your account history. However, TikTok does not automatically organize your comments into a list you can scroll through. Your comments remain under the videos where you posted them. Because of this, accessing your comment history involves either tracing your activities or using features that track what you interact with on the app.
Checking Your Comment History Through “Activity” Section
The easiest way to locate comments you have interacted with is by visiting your Activity section. This section shows reactions and replies to your comments. To access it, open TikTok and go to your inbox icon located at the bottom of your screen. Once inside your inbox, you will see a list of notifications, including likes and replies to comments you have made.
If someone replied to your comment, it will appear here. You can tap on the notification, and it will take you directly to the video and comment thread. This is helpful if you are specifically trying to revisit discussions rather than simply review all comments you have made.
Viewing Comments Through Liked Videos
Another useful method is checking videos you have liked. If you commonly leave a comment on videos you enjoy, you may find your comments by visiting your liked videos list. Go to your profile and tap the heart icon which displays all the videos you have liked.
Open a video, scroll to the comment section and look for your username. Although this method requires some scrolling, it works well if you often engage with the same type of content.
Requesting Your TikTok Data to Access Full Comment History
TikTok also provides a feature where users can request a copy of their account data. This includes your comment history in text form. To do this, open your profile page, tap the menu icon, and go to settings and privacy. From there, find privacy settings and select download your data.
You will then choose whether you want the data in TXT or JSON format. Once submitted, TikTok will prepare your data, which may take a few days to be ready. When it is done, you can download a file containing all your past comments, along with the videos and timestamps.
This method gives you the most complete record but requires patience and some time to review the downloaded information.
Searching Comments in Saved or Favorited Videos
If you often save videos to your favorites before commenting, your favorites list can also help you retrieve previous comments. Open your profile, tap the bookmark or favorite icon, and browse through saved clips. Once you find a video, open the comment section and search for your comment.
This works especially well if you like to keep track of content you find meaningful, funny, or informative.
