How to Hide Reposts on TikTok

As TikTok continues to evolve, new features like the repost function have been introduced to allow users to amplify content they enjoy by sharing it with their followers. However, not everyone wants their reposts to be visible on their profile. If you’ve shared content and prefer to keep it discreet or simply change your mind about reposting, TikTok provides options to manage your repost visibility or undo it entirely. Here is how to hide reposts on TikTok.

 Reposts on TikTok

The repost feature, launched in recent updates, allows users to share someone else’s video without downloading or re-uploading. It appears to your followers with your username tagged as the reposter. While reposts are useful for sharing fun or relevant content, they can clutter your profile or make your followers see videos you didn’t originally create. This leads many users to seek ways to hide or remove reposts from their profiles.

How to Undo or Hide a Repost

TikTok does not currently have a setting that permanently hides reposts from your profile like you would hide your liked videos or private videos. However, you can remove a repost if you no longer want it visible. To do this, open TikTok and go to the video you reposted. You can usually find it on your followers’ feed or by searching for it again. Once on the video, tap the share icon, which looks like an arrow. You will then see an option labeled “Remove Repost.” Tap it to undo your repost. Once removed, the video will no longer appear as a repost under your activity, and your followers won’t see that you shared it.

TikTok doesn’t store a list of reposts on your personal profile the way it does with your own uploads, but others can still see that you’ve reposted something if they encounter the video in their feed while it is still active. This is why it’s useful to remove reposts manually if you don’t want others associating you with that content anymore.

Adjusting Privacy Settings for More Control

To limit your interaction visibility on TikTok further, you may want to explore other privacy settings. These include hiding your liked videos, limiting who can view your activity status, and controlling who sees your interactions with other videos through the “Privacy” menu in your account settings.
