Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja on November 13, 2024, made an unannounced visit to Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) Headquarters in Athi River and Kitengela Police Station in Kajiado County.
IG Kanja has prioritized transforming police stations through training and mental health, into centres of excellence for service delivery.
The IG commended the exceptional work of the Gender Desk officers at the station.
In his hearty conversation with members of the public present at the station during the visit, IG pointed out that the station would be given a face-lift, and urged the community to partner with police in maintaining peace and security.
The IG was accompanied by senior NPS Officers including his deputies, Mr. Eliud Lagat (Kenya Police Service),Mr. Gilbert Masengeli (Administration Police Service), Commandant Kiganjo Main Campus Mr. Nyale Munga, SAIG, and NPS Spokesperson Dr. Resila Onyango, AIG.
Commandant CIPU is Mr. Philip Rono, AIG while OCS Kitengela Police Station is Chief Inspector Joel Munyalo.
