Israel Kills 56 Aid Seekers As Over 22,000 Aid Trucks Remain Stuck Outside Gaza

At least 92 Palestinians were killed in Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, including 56 individuals who were reportedly attempting to access humanitarian aid, according to local health officials and Gaza’s Government Media Office.

Witnesses described chaotic scenes as people gathered near aid distribution points in hopes of receiving food and basic supplies amid worsening shortages.

The victims, they say, were unarmed civilians trying to reach assistance when the strikes occurred.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s Government Media Office reported that over 22,000 aid trucks remain stranded at the border due to restrictions imposed by Israel, with only 36 trucks allowed entry into the enclave on Saturday.

Humanitarian agencies warn that such limited access is far below what is required to meet the needs of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents, many of whom are displaced and living in overcrowded shelters with limited access to clean water, medicine, and food.

The United Nations and several international relief organizations have repeatedly called for the opening of sustained humanitarian corridors to prevent famine and the collapse of basic services.

Hamas has announced it would allow the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to deliver aid to Israeli captives being held in Gaza but only under the condition that Israel permits the establishment of humanitarian corridors for the broader civilian population.

The group said the move aims to demonstrate a reciprocal approach to humanitarian obligations.

Since the war began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a deadly attack on southern Israel that killed 1,139 people and led to the abduction of more than 200 individuals, Israel has carried out a prolonged military campaign across Gaza.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the death toll has reached at least 60,839 Palestinians, with 149,588 wounded many of them women and children.

The conflict has drawn international condemnation and calls for a ceasefire, though diplomatic efforts have so far failed to produce a lasting resolution.

The situation continues to deteriorate, with growing fears of regional escalation and irreversible humanitarian damage.
