Kanyari finally owns up, apologises for dragging ex-wife Betty Bayo into controversies

Controversial man of God, Prophet Victor Kanyari, has apologised for putting his late ex-wife, gospel musician Betty Bayo, through turmoil caused by his many scandals.

Speaking during his heartfelt tribute at Betty’s burial on Thursday, November 20, Kanyari reflected on their turbulent past as he celebrated her faith, resilience, and unwavering devotion to their two children.

Kanyari admitted that his dramas, including the infamous Sh310 scandal, severely damaged Betty’s image and caused her immense distress.

He posthumously praised his ex-wife for looking past his faults and scandals, choosing instead to fight for a peaceful and stable family.

According to the preacher, he may have failed and disappointed Betty in the past, but he vowed to honour her legacy through their children.

“I remember how we both trended years back, you had your story and I had mine. I’m truly sorry that my brand, my name, and my drama put you through difficult moments. Yet even after all that, you overcame. We would still laugh about it, and you would say your brand even grew bigger despite everything,” he said.

“Betty, you were a hardworking woman, a forgiving soul, a loving mother and a true friend. Above all, you were a woman who loved God with all her heart. You built your life with grace, you raised our children with humility, you forgave more than most people ever could, and you showed the world that pain doesn’t have to destroy,” Kanyari added.

He described the late musician as a dedicated mother and a woman whose strength and faith made her unforgettable.

“If there is one thing that pains me deeply, it’s knowing how I might have failed you in many ways. But today, I promise before God, Spirit and family that I will not fail our children. I will step up. I will be present for them. I will guide them, educate them, and ensure they reach where you always wanted them to go,” he noted.

Kanyari and Betty are said to have enjoyed a happy life together before parting ways after the Sh310 exposé, which severely tainted the preacher’s reputation.

Following the scandal, Betty packed her bags, took her children, and left Kanyari.

She later moved on and found love again with her partner, Tash, with whom she was happily raising her children until her sudden demise.
