Controversial musician Bahati has finally broken his silence after weeks of backlash over his recent nauseating publicity stunts.
In an emotional statement on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Mama hitmaker opened up about his struggles, mistakes, and the pain behind his actions, offering a heartfelt apology to his fans and to all Kenyans.
“Guys have received many calls, messages from friends, fans, pastors and even stranger since I made my musical comeback with Seti. I did not want to reply to everyone based on emotions because I respect you all. I wanted to write a statement but because this is a matter I would like to address from my heart, I chose to sit down and talk to you,” Bahati said.
“I want to say I am sorry to everyone who felt disappointed, hurt, or disrespected by anything I have done lately. I know I have crossed lines and made wrong moves, and for that, I take full responsibility,” he added.
He admitted that the pressure to remain relevant in the music and entertainment industry had pushed him into doing things that did not represent who he truly is.
“Fame can be loud. It can blind you. You start chasing likes, views, and headlines, and somewhere along the way, you lose the person you were meant to be. I have been there,” he confessed.

Bahati revealed that behind his cheerful social media persona, he has been battling inner struggles, including stress, depression, and fear of failure.
“I have had nights I couldn’t sleep, thinking about how to keep my brand alive… how to stay on top. And sometimes, in that struggle, I ended up making choices that hurt me, my family, and even my fans,” he said.
The star also appreciated his wife, Diana Marua, for standing by him during the storms and reminding him of his purpose.
“To my wife, thank you for reminding me who I am. To my fans, thank you for still believing in me even when I messed up. I don’t take it for granted,” he added.
Bahati ended his statement with a promise to do better and focus on what truly matters, his family, his faith, and his music.
“From today, I choose peace over clout. Purpose over publicity. I want to go back to making music that uplifts, not divides. I want to inspire again,” he promised.
It should be noted Bahati recently irked netizens after sharing a video of himself wearing his wife’s thong.
The musician had earlier been captured on camera licking Diana Marua’s feet while driving, something that not only angered netizens but also government officials.
He had also been captured on camera eating food that had been chewed by his wife and forced down his mouth.
His shenanigans, all for views and likes did not sit well with countless Kenyans who came out guns blazing, blasting him for cheap publicity stunts.
Well, despite his humble apology, a section of Kenyans took to social media to still call him out for using the apology to chase clout.
According to his critics, the musician is capable of doing just about anything for views, likes and shares on social media.
Some even reminded him of the time he received a Groove Award and vowed never to stray away from God and salvation but still went ahead to dishonour God.
