A 59-year-old machine operator died after he was accidentally struck by a sharp metal plate while operating a wood-cutting machine at a factory along Old Mombasa Road, Nairobi.
The incident occurred on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Kenbro Industries Limited.
Police said the worker, identified as Joseph Kimeu Mutiso, was operating the machine when the sharp plate struck him on the left side of his neck.
He sustained a deep cut and suffered heavy bleeding. His colleagues rushed him to Nairobi West Hospital for emergency treatment, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police officers visited and documented the scene.
Mutiso’s body was later moved to Nairobi Funeral Home, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Police have commenced investigations into the workplace accident to establish the circumstances that led to the fatal incident.
And a 25-year-old woman died after she was allegedly assaulted by her husband following an argument at their rented house in Mauko Centre, Busia County.
The woman, identified as Sharon, was reportedly assaulted by her husband, during an argument at their residence.
She was rushed to Midspar Clinic for treatment before being referred to Busia County Hospital. However, upon arrival at the hospital, her family was informed that she had succumbed to her injuries.
Police officers from Busia Police Station, together with detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), visited the scene.
The body of the woman was found with visible injuries to the head.
The scene was processed and documented by Crime Scene Investigation officers from Busia.
Her body was moved to the Busia County Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death.
