Man, 28 dies after arrow attack in Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County


A man attacked his son with an arrow fatally in an incident in Tot area, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Police said the body of Kipchumba Tarus was found in his house after the attack. His father was missing on Friday following the attack on April 16 in the evening, police said.

The motive of the attack was not immediately known, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending other procedures.

Meanwhile, the body of a woman was found near a railway line after an accident in Mukuru Kwa Reuben area, Nairobi.

The deceased was identified as Gladys Njambi, 27. She was hit as she crossed the railway line on April 16 in the evening. The police were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary.

And two people were found dead following separate drowning incidents in Meru and Kilifi Counties.

In the first incident in Murungurune area, the body of unknown man was found decomposed and floating on Iraru river.

In the second incident, a 16-year-old boy drowned in the Indian Ocean in an incident.

The boy was among a group on swimming sessions in Vidazini area when he drowned.

His body was later retrieved to the mortuary pending other procedures, police said of the April 16 incident.

Elsewhere, two auctioneers were attacked and seriously wounded after being mistaken for thieves in the Mwihoko area, Kiambu County.

The workers had gone to reclaim a car following a concluded civil suit when they were attacked by a mob who mistook them for thieves.

Police were alerted and responded there before rescuing them to the hospital in a serious condition.

Police said they are investigating the incident as they discouraged mob lynching trend.

Authorities want suspects to be surrendered for processing and possible prosecution.

There has been a rise in such mob lynching incidents in the country amid a campaign to address them.
