Citizen TV’s star Swahili News Anchor Rashid Abdhalla has been dragged into controversies after one of his alleged long time friend outed him for being a snob.
A random social media user who goes by Eddy Oloo Uduny on Tuesday, July 15, took to Facebook to call out Rashid Abdhalla for ignoring his old friends especially after kissing success in the media industry.
In a somewhat bitter lost seen by this writer, Oloo claimed Rashid used to be his tight friend way before his fame.
According to Oloo, Rashid was so close to him that they would engage in DSTV cable TV connections in which the TV star was the major beneficiary.
Oloo noted that he traveled outside the country and lost touch with Rashid, only to come back and find out he was now big time media personality.
Being an old friend, Oloo claimed he tried to reach out to Rashid on social media so as to reconnect but he is yet to receive a feedback to date.
“Rashid Abdallah the news anchor used to be my friend way back in Mombasa. He used to connect for us Dstv cables and we would pay him at the end of the month. I don’t know whether he was working with those guys or not.
Later on, I went to work in southern Sudan around 2008, and we lost touch with Rashid. One day, while back in the country as I was watching the news, i saw him on TV and I said wow! This is my old friend Rashid. I therefore reached out through his Facebook page since I didn’t have his contacts. I texted him… “Hey Rashid, it was nice seeing you on Citizen tv. Do you still remember me? “. Let me tell you Maina… That message has never been answered 4 years down the lane,” Oloo revealed.
In his conclusion, Oloo stated he would have handled his friends and fans different was he famous today, unlike how Rashid and his ilk does.
“Yaani hawa Ma-celeb husahau watu hivi? Ama ilikua ni pseudo account yawa? When I become a celeb, I’ll respond to all your messages 🤣. Imfikie Rashid Abdallah of Citizen tv,” he closed.
Nairobi News cannot authoritatively confirm if indeed Oloo is Rashid’s old friend or he is just chasing cheap clout.
Rashid Abdhalla had not responded to the allegations as at the time of filing this report.
