A 38-year-old man died after a fire broke out in his house in Baraka, Laikipia Central Sub-County.
The incident occurred on Friday, September 11, 2026, at about noon at the residence of Patrick Macharia.
Police established that Macharia had been trapped inside the house and was burned beyond recognition.
Neighbours reportedly broke down the door and put out the fire. Several household items of unknown value were destroyed in the inferno.
The cause of the fire had not been established immediately, police said.
CSI officers processed and documented the scene before the body was removed and taken to Nanyuki Referral Hospital mortuary, where it was preserved pending an autopsy.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
And a construction foreman died after he was electrocuted at a building site along Dar es Salaam Road in Nairobi’s Industrial Area.
The incident occurred on Friday, September 11, 2026, at about 2:18pm, after Evance Adeya, a foreman working for Wipro International Ltd, reportedly came into contact with a live electrical wire while constructing a wall.
Police officers rushed to the site after the incident was reported.
They found Adeya’s body lying on the ground near Ngong River within the construction site.
Police said there were no visible signs of a struggle at the scene.
Crime Scene Investigation officers from Makadara Sub-County processed and documented the scene before the body was removed and taken to the City Mortuary for preservation and a postmortem examination.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal electrocution are ongoing.
