Man dies after attack by arrows during land adjudication event in Narok


A 36-year-old man was killed in a land dispute incident in Entasekera, Narok County.

Police said Maroichi Bulat, 36 was attacked by arrows as he accompanied locals for a land adjudication exercise in Osupuko-Oirobi village in Morijo area.

The incident happened on Thursday April 23 as a group visited the for a land adjudication exercise, police said.

The assailant escaped the scene as other officials scampered for their safety. This was after they had seen the deceased bleeding from the arrow attack.

The man was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures as the hunt for the suspect goes on. The exercise was in the meantime stopped, police said.

Elsewhere in Merigi, Bomet County, one Ivine Chepkoech, 19 was found murdered near their home following an altercation.

Police said locals found blood stains in the kitchen which had spilled to a nearby river bank where she was found lying unconscious about 500 meters from the homestead.

She had a deep cut on the neck and was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The motive of the murder was not immediately known, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary for autopsy and other procedures.

And in Kolowa, Baringo County, a body of a woman was found floating on a water pan in the Domo village. It is not clear how long the body had been there.

The body was unidentified as it was moved to the mortuary for other procedures.

Police said they could not determine if the woman was murdered and dumped there or she drowned.

An investigation is ongoing into the same, police said. The police said villagers could not identify the body of the woman aged about 34.
