Man dies in hospital after attack in Narok


Police in Narok launched a manhunt for three suspects following the death of a man who was allegedly attacked and seriously injured in Olokurto area.

Joseph Njogu died at Bethany Hospital after sustaining deep cuts to his forehead and right hand following the incident reported on Monday, August 31, 2026.

A witness said he found Njogu bleeding from the forehead and left hand. The victim reportedly told him that he had been attacked by three men.

The witness mobilised assistance and rushed Njogu to Bethany Hospital for treatment, but the victim later succumbed to his injuries.

Police officers who visited the scene established that Njogu had sustained deep cuts to the forehead and right hand.

The scene was processed as detectives commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.

Police said efforts were underway to apprehend the three suspects, who remained at large.

Njogu’s body was awaiting removal to Narok Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation and a postmortem examination.

And police in Migori County are investigating the death of an unidentified girl, estimated to be 15 years old, who died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kehancha.

The African female patient died on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Mother and Child Hospital in Kehancha, where she had been receiving treatment.\

Police officers from visited the hospital and established that the girl had been brought there on August 28 at about 7.30pm by a community policing leader who was accompanied by two other people.

According to the police the man said he had found the girl in critical condition at the emergency section of Kehancha Sub-County Hospital, where she had allegedly been abandoned by a motorcycle rider.

The rider reportedly left without providing his particulars, while the motorcycle’s registration details were not established.

Police were informed that the girl had not received medical attention at the facility because of the ongoing medical practitioners’ and nurses’ strike.

She was subsequently taken to Mother and Child Hospital in Kehancha, where she remained under treatment until her death.

Police have not established the girl’s identity or traced her relatives or next of kin.

Her body was moved to Kehancha Sub-County Hospital mortuary for preservation pending a postmortem examination.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding her abandonment, treatment and subsequent death are ongoing.

And police in Kwale County have launched investigations into the murder of a 57-year-old man who was found dead inside his house in Kinango Sub-County.

The deceased, Damau Kajimbi Mkambe, was allegedly killed by an unknown assailant in the early hours of Monday, August 31, 2026.

The incident was reported by the deceased’s son who informed police that his father had been murdered inside his house.

Police visited the scene where they found the body of a male adult lying on the floor of a single-room house, facing upwards.

The deceased was dressed in blue trousers and had a deep cut on his neck, which police believe was inflicted with a sharp object.

There was blood around the scene, with preliminary investigations indicating that the man was attacked by an unknown assailant at an undetermined time in the early morning.

The body was removed to Kinango Mortuary for preservation pending a postmortem examination.
