Police in Nairobi launched investigations into a suspected murder after a middle-aged man was found dead in Kayole under unclear circumstances.
The incident was reported at Mowlem Police Station on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
The victim identified as Michael Gachie Macharia, 48, was found dead at Silanga area within Kayole.
Police said they found the body lying on its back along a footpath.
Preliminary observations revealed an injury mark around the neck, pointing to a possible case of strangulation.
Police noted that the deceased was only dressed in a pair of shorts, raising suspicions that he may have been killed elsewhere and the body later dumped at the scene.
The area was processed by investigators before the body was moved to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Authorities have since launched a manhunt for suspects and are working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the killing.
And police in Nairobi recovered a homemade firearm and several weapons during an operation targeting a wanted criminal in the Kariobangi area.
The operation was conducted on the morning of March 25, 2026, within Reuben slums.
During the raid, police stormed the residence of a suspect who is reportedly wanted for terrorizing members of the public.
However, the suspect was not found at the premises at the time of the operation.
Police recovered a homemade pistol loaded with one round of 9mm ammunition and believed to be capable of firing.
The recovered items have been secured as exhibits, while police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
Authorities have urged members of the public to share any information that may lead to his arrest.
And police in Meru are investigating the suspected murder of a 40-year-old man found dead along a footpath in Mitunguu, Imenti South Sub-county.
The deceased was identified as James Muriungi.
A preliminary examination revealed a deep cut on the left side of his neck, suggesting foul play.
The body was removed to Kanyakine Sub-County Hospital mortuary for preservation and awaits a post-mortem examination.
