Security agencies have launched a joint operation in Kiboga to apprehend a prison warder who allegedly opened fire on his supervisors, killing three people at Cheboga Prison.
According to Prisons spokesperson Frank Baine, the suspect, identified as Warder Moses Anguyo, shot the victims before fleeing the facility.
The firearm used in the attack has since been recovered, but the suspect remains at large and is considered dangerous.
In a statement, the Commissioner General of Prisons confirmed that the incident occurred at around 10:00 a.m. when Warder Anguyo allegedly turned his weapon on his superiors.
The deceased have been identified as Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Hope Catherine, who served as the Deputy Officer in Charge; Principal Officer I Aksuri Bright, the third in command; and Ms. Ayeware Sara, the wife of the Officer in Charge at Cheboga Prison.

Police were immediately called to secure the scene, and investigations are underway to establish the motive behind the fatal shooting.
Authorities have appealed to members of the public to provide any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.
Security officials assured the public that updates will be provided as the search continues.
The prisons department expressed its condolences to the families of the deceased, describing the incident as tragic and deeply regrettable.
